Educational Block 1 – Preparing for Entry into Governance

This first educational block introduces participants to the structural, legal, and ethical foundations of governance.
It aims to enable them to identify the different forms of governance, understand the rules and stakeholders, and develop an initial posture of responsible observation.
It provides the cognitive and methodological foundation necessary before engaging in active mandate experience.

⏱️ Total Block Duration: around 8 hours (2-hour videoconference + reading material + in situ implementation per module, followed by block synthesis)

The learning from this block enables participants to acquire the first fundamental skills for understanding institutional functioning and governance responsibilities.

Observation Elements and Internal Evaluation Criteria:

General Objectives of the Block:

  • Situate governance bodies within a global ecosystem (organization, network, external environment).
  • Understand the link between individual responsibility and collective functioning.
  • Identify the conditions for ethical and effective participation in a governance body.

Overall Block Evaluation:

  • Initial diagnostic assessment of basic governance knowledge.
  • Final oral or written presentation demonstrating understanding of the institutional framework.
  • Skills validation through the observation report and the formative evaluation grid provided by the lead trainer.
